NOTES
Moebius took this show on the road. Michigan in January, Wisconsin in February. Because who doesn’t love to travel during a midwestern winter?
Director E. Michael Blake writes:
“This was a longer and more polished sketch show. I was really intense about this show, because all of fandom was gaga over “Stage Wars” and I wanted to establish that we could also do original stuff that didn’t depend on parody. A few structured improvs were worked in with the scripted sketches. By this time we had more of Chuck Ott’s work, including “Dinnertime in the Galactic Community,” and maybe “The Mr. Warlock Show.” The quality and variety of material made it possible to do “Martian Pioneer Spacelines” as a four-part runner. The show went over very well, to the great relief of me and everyone who had to deal with me.”
Some cast and sketch changes may have been made between the first and second show.
The Wiscon show became known to Moebius historians as the “bulb horn show” because, lacking control of the venue lighting to make blackouts, the cast resorted to honking a bicycle horn to tell the audience when to close their eyes.
This is a good time to mention that SF convention audiences are the best audiences in the world.
